THE STORY

Sierra Zulu is a line of tactical products from a knife manufacturing company. We designed this brand's logo from the beginning, and worked to design most of their packaging and marketing materials for their products.


Upon first request, the packaging needed to stand out on the retail shelves against the competition. Most of the competitors used bright colors or white backgrounded trap packages.

THE PERFORMANCE

The solution to standing out ended up reinforcing the strength of the line of tactical products - GO DARK! We wanted to help the yellow of the logo stand out as that color appears to be rare in the knife industry. The shield doubled as an icon for either bullet points or sectioning off the area to list the features or benefits. There was still something missing to bolster the background ghosted image of the military tank. What better tie-in than accenting the design with yellow tank treads?


The typeface used was in line with the logo's tactical, clean, and modern appeal.
